Abstract
Thinking skills development is considered an essential and challenging aspect of foreign language
learning, as learners often need to grasp the underlying concepts. English teachers should employ
effective strategies to foster learners’ curiosity and engagement in thinking processes. Hence, the present
research aimed to explore the effectiveness of using educational games in enhancing pupils’ thinking
skills. The study involved thirty learners from Salhi Abdel Aziz middle school, and ten English teachers
from different middle schools. The research methodology employed a mixed method approach to gather
the required data. A questionnaire was administered to the learners, while teachers participated in
structured interviews to assess their attitudes towards incorporating educational games in the teaching and
learning process. The results revealed that learners have a positive perception about educational games as
it supports their ability to think easily and enhance their thinking process. Moreover, the findings
indicated that teachers utilize this method because they recognize the educational value of games. They
believe that games provide a valuable opportunity for learners to practice and review language lessons,
leading to the development of their thinking skills.
