The study addresses the issue of the distinctiveness of Hajj pilgrimages from the Maghreb to the East during the medieval period and their influence on the Islamic Maghreb. It raises questions about the motivations for the journey, the routes and difficulties faced by the pilgrims, and the most notable travelers between the fifth and tenth Hijri centuries.
