Abstract
My master thesis studies the dynamic behavior of buildings subjected to seismic loading, with emphasis on the effects of different planforms on the structural response. Using advanced numerical modeling techniques and simulation tools such as Robot Structural Analysis, various structural configurations (plan shapes): rectangular, T-shape, and L-shape were analyzed. Key dynamic properties such as natural periods, modal shapes, and seismic response parameters were studied. The results highlighted the essential role of geometric regularity and symmetry in minimizing torsional effects and improving the overall structural behavior.
Similar studies are recommended to improve building codes and enrich seismic design guidelines to achieve greater safety and stability
