Abstract
This handout is based on years of teaching experience in the ALG4 module for second
year university students. It is organized into three chapters, with the first two
introducing symmetric bilinear forms, quadratic forms, and Hermitian forms, all
illustrated with clear examples. The final chapter explores practical applications of
these concepts. It is designed to be a helpful guide for both students learning the
material and instructors teaching it, making the concepts easier to understand and
apply.
