dc.description.abstractThe spectrum of a linear operator is one of the most useful objects in functional analysis. However, exact eigenvalues, and generalized eigenvectors with infinite dimensional ranges can rarely be found. It is thus imperative to approximate such operator by finite rank operators and solve the original eigenvalue problem approximately.en_US
