| dc.description.abstract | Our study aimed at analyzing a group of photographs of the earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey in February 2023 in a semiological analysis. To many results, most notably: 1 . The meanings and connotations carried the human impact. Pictures of earthquakes and natural disasters reflected the scale of destruction and human losses. These pictures shed light on the suffering of the affected people and families and broadcast a message of solidarity and sympathy towards those affected. As this aspect was common to the different channels 2 . Many iconic elements were employed by promoting feelings of sympathy and solidarity, as the images were used in a professional manner through the great visual impact to attract international solidarity and cooperation . 3. he messages and symbols that were used in our analysis have many dimensions, most notably the media guidance of public opinion, where images can be used to direct the public's attention towards specific aspects of events and direct them towards a specific interpretation. | en_US |
