Abstract
سعى الإنسان منذ القدم إلى تحقيق الأفضل، وهذا ما شهده من أشكال التغيير والتطور الذي يحققه باستمرار. مع ظهور مجال التعليم وتقديم المعارف والخبرات المتنوعة، ابتداءً من المرحلة الابتدائية التي تعتبر القاعدة التي يبدأ منها المتعلم في مسيرته التعليمية. ومنذ ظهور المدرسة، تم التفرغ لعملية التعليم والتعلم. وتم تطوير المناهج الدراسية، كما تم تأليف العديد من الكتب المدرسية. وأصبح للتعليم فترات زمنية ومراحل، ولإنجاح العملية التواصلية والتعليمية. تم توفير المناخ المدرسي الملائم للتعلم بدءاً بالكتاب المدرسي الذي يعتبر المرجع الأساسي في عملية اكتساب المعرفة والعلم وخاصة للطفل، ومما لا شك فيه أن للكتاب المدرسي أهمية كبيرة ومكانة بارزة. ودورا فعالا في عملية التدريس والتربية، في مختلف المواد الدراسية ومختلف المراحل التعليمية، وتبدو الكتب أكثر أهمية للمبتدئين، وخاصة تلك الكتب المدرسية التي تحتوي على صور ملونة فهي تعمل على شرح الأفكار الواردة في النصوص المكتوبة وتسهيل تعلم التلاميذ.
في الماضي، لم يكن هناك الكثير من الاهتمام بوضع الصور في الكتب، وخاصة الكتب المدرسية، ولكن مع مرور الوقت، أصبح للصور والأشكال دور كبير في تعلم التلاميذ.
