Abstract
This handout is a teaching resource for the ALG3 module, aimed at second year
students. It spans four chapters: the first three introduce fundamental linear algebra
concepts such as eigenvalues, eigenvectors, the characteristic polynomial, matrix
diagonalization, and triangularization. The final chapter explores practical applications
of these concepts. The handout is designed to aid both students in learning and
teachers in instruction, providing a clear and useful reference for understanding and
applying linear algebra.
