dc.description.abstractThe Banks and financial institutions are an important building block in building the economy and business in any country. The banking sector has a large role that can not be ignored in the process of economic development because it is the tool through which the state implements its monetary system and financial policy. The vitality of the economic situation in that country through the provision of various banking services and variety, which help greatly in the revitalization of economic, financial and trade operations, the most important of these services are the acceptance of deposits of all types and granting direct and indirect credit facilities and the collection of securities Exclusive and deducted and the issuance of letters of guarantee and the opening of the documentary credit. certainly, commercial banks, in light of the continuous changes in the economic environment, are exposed to many of the risks that affect their various activities such as lending, investment and others. The most important of these are liquidity risks. This is evidenced by the subprime mortgage crisis in 2008, Where it turns out that banks 'retention of insufficient liquid assets to cope with liquidity shocks led to bankruptcy. The inability of the bank to meet depositors' demands, as well as borrowing from the market, may expose it to a solvency crisis and then to a banking crisis. This is not about avoiding risk as much as I can Identified and evaluated and therefore management. The objective of this study is to answer the following question: What is the reality of liquidity risk management in Algerian commercial banks? As a result of this study, we found that Algerian commercial banks lack modern methods of measuring and controlling risk, where there is no interest in risk management.
