dc.description.abstractThis study involves the preparation of thin films of pure nickel oxide with different molarities (0.2, and 0.8 M) and doped with copper at a weight percentage of 12.5%, deposited on glass substrates and conductive substrates using the sol-gel coating method. Nickel acetate tetrahydrate was used as the nickel source, copper dichloride as the doping source, and ethanol and monoethanolamine (MEA) as solvent and catalyst, respectively. To investigate the effect of the molarity of the pure solution and the concentration of the dopant on the structural and optical properties of the nickel oxide thin films, solutions with different molarities were prepared, and the sample prepared with 0.8 M was selected for copper doping due to its favorable properties.X-ray diffraction results showed that all films crystallized in a cubic structure of nickel oxide, with no other phases observed within the detection limit of the DRX technique used. Undoped NiO films exhibited a preferential orientation in the (111) plane, which changed to (200) after doping. Our results demonstrate that the strain value for all pure films was higher compared to the doped films, and the crystalline size of our layers increased after doping.Optical analysis revealed that the average transmittance was high for undoped nickel oxide and decreased after doping. The الفصل الرابع "تحضير العينات ,تحليل النتائج ومناقشتيا " 111 band gap width for the sample prepared at 0.8 M was wider compared to other pure samples, indicating its superiority for energy storage applications.Additionally, Urbach energy increased with Cu doping and remained constant in all pure samples.
