Abstract
This thesis focuses on the study and numerical solution of second-kind Volterra integral
equations using the Galerkin-Hermite method. This method is based on approximating the
solution by orthogonal Hermite polynomials, transforming the original equation into a linear
algebraic system. The theoretical background of the method is presented, followed by its
application to several numerical examples to compare the approximate results with exact
solutions. The obtained results demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of this method in
solving such integral equations.
