The constitutional amendment of 2016 was the important breakthrough that affected the system of rights and freedoms that the Algerian constitutional founder proceeded with in light of the constitutional amendment issued on December 30, 2020, by emphasizing the rights and freedoms stipulated in previous constitutions of the state. Its text and establishment of new rights, freedoms and guarantees that were not stipulated in previous constitutions. The 2020 constitutional amendment expanded the field of rights and freedoms in the Algerian constitution and strengthened rights that originally existed. The issue of rights and freedoms is one of the most important pillars upon which contemporary democracy is based, which societies aspire to, and laws aim to protect them from being attacked, whether by individuals or from the abuse of power.
