الإجراءات الجزائية الخاصة بالأحداث في التشريع الجز ائري

Abstract

Algerian legislation pays special attention to juvenile delinquents by establishing distinctive criminal procedures that take into account their age and psychological and social condition. This is reflected in the creation of specialized divisions within judicial authorities and the appointment of judges specialized in juvenile affairs, while adopting principles of education and reintegration instead of punishment. These procedures are also characterized by their confidential nature, with priority given to educational measures such as handing over the juvenile to their guardian or placing them under supervision, before resorting to custodial sentences, which are only applied in exceptional cases. This approach is part of a criminal policy aimed at protecting juveniles and ensuring their rehabilitation within an appropriate legal environment.
