| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of international mechanisms adopted to combat corruption, by reviewing the legal and regulatory framework of these mechanisms at both regional and international levels, with a particular focus on the extent to which Algerian national legislation aligns with this system. The study seeks to assess Algeria’s compliance with relevant international conventions and to identify the challenges hindering the implementation of these mechanisms at the local level, while highlighting the role of international organizations in supporting anti-corruption efforts. To achieve these objectives, the researcher adopted the analytical method as a primary approach to understand and interpret relevant national and international legal texts on corruption. Through this method, key concepts were deconstructed, legal and regulatory frameworks governing anti-corruption efforts were examined, which allowed for an in-depth reading of the phenomena and the means of addressing it. The study concludes with a number of findings, most notably: the effectiveness of international mechanisms remains contingent upon how well national, legal and institutional environments adapt to them. Although Algeria has ratified several international conventions, internal challenges, such as weak institutional coordination and insufficient political decision continued to impede actual implementation. The study recommends activating political will, strengthening the independence of oversight bodies, intensifying international cooperation, and involving civil society in preventive efforts in order to promote values of transparency and integrity within public institutions | |
