dc.description.abstractABSTRACT This paper investigates EFL learners’ difficulties in developing oral fluency and the factors that affect their speaking performance. It tackles the problems learners face while speaking. This study uses a triangulation methodology of data collection tools which includes a questionnaire, interview, and classroom observation. The study follows a descriptive analytical method to analyze the obtained data from the three data collection tools. The sample includes 44 second year LMD students of English language and 7 Oral expression teachers at University of Mohamed Bodiaf in M’sila. Students were addressed to answer the questionnaire, and oral expression teachers were invited to answer the interview. From data analysis and interpretation researcher could come up with interesting points in which the findings indicate that there are some difficulties which underline EFL learners’ failure in developing their oral fluency these difficulties are; lack of time of oral expression module, lack of practice and exposure to English language, Arabic language interference, lack of participation and interaction inside the classroom. At the end of the study, some recommendations are provided for teachers, students, English department of M’sila University, and policy makers to enhance students' speaking fluency.en_US
