Conservation agriculture is a technique incorporated into direct seeding and is primarily based on the elimination of tillage, conservation of crop residues and crop rotation. Its importance lies in the ability to improve the potential quality of natural resources; In soil, water and atmosphere, as part of sustainable agriculture. The objective of the study is mixed: it aims to assess the effect of crop rotation on certain soil properties and the behavior of certain cereal crops (durum wheat, triticale) and legumes (lentils, field peas), by opposition to rotations carried out by direct sowing in semi-arid zone. By comparing the four crop rotations: durum / lentils, peas / fodder peas, lentils / durum wheat and forage / peas, the results show the positive effect of crop rotation on the mechanical and hydrological properties of the soil. On the other hand, their effects on crops, we find that unfavorable growing conditions have adversely affected our results.en_US
