dc.description.abstract | he objective of this course is to provide students with general knowledge of metrology as applied to renewable energy (RE) systems, with a particular focus on photovoltaic (PV), wind, and fuel cell (FC) technologies. The course aims to familiarize students with various types of physical quantities relevant to these systems, including meteorological, electrical, and energy parameters. Students will explore different types of sensors, measurement instruments, and characterization techniques used by professionals in the field. Special attention is given to the measurement of temperature, solar radiation, humidity, wind speed and direction, and atmospheric pressure. Additionally, the course introduces standards related to meteorological instruments, which are essential for ensuring reliable and accurate data. This knowledge is crucial for engineers involved in the design, monitoring, and optimization of RE systems. A recommended prerequisite for this course is prior knowledge of electrical sensors and measurement techniques. | |
