Abstract
الانتداب الفرنسي على سوريا الكبرى كان مرحلة تاريخية حاسمة في تاريخ بلاد الشام، امتدت من 1920م، حتى الاستقلال الفعلي لسوريا ولبنان 1946م، كان الانتداب تجربة استعمارية خلفت آثار عميقة على الواقع السياسي والاجتماعي للمنطقة، ورغم محاولاته لتقسيم وتفكيك النسيج الوطني، إلا أنه ساهم في بلورة الهوية الوطنية والمطالبة بالاستقلال، وبعد الحرب العالمية الثانية وتحت الضغط الدولي، اضطرت فرنسا للانسحاب ، وبموجب ذلك استقلت سوريا ولبنان.
The French mandate over Greater Syria was a significant historical stage in the history of the Levant. It lasted from 1920 until the actual independence of Syria and Lebanon in 1946. The colonial presence had deep political and social effects on the region. Despite attempts to divide and weaken national unity, it also strengthened the spirit of resistance and the demand for independence. After World War II and under international pressure, France was forced to withdraw, leading to the independence of Syria and Lebanon.
