Abstract: ThepresentpaperexplorestherelationshipbetweenthetwosuperpowerstheUnitedStatesofAmericaandtheSovietUnionduringtheColdwartheUSandtheSovietUnion progressivelybuilt uptheir ownzonesof influence,dividingtheworld intotwoopposingcamps.TheColdWarwasthereforenotcompletelyastrugglebetweentheUSandtheUSSRbutaglobalconflictthataffectedmanycountries,particularlyintheEuropeancontinent,Asia,andSouthAmericawheretheconflictreacheditsclimaxexactlyinCuba(CubanMissileCrisis),because,in1959,CubabecameacommunistcountryandtheSovietssecretlydeployedmissilesthere.TheU.S.PresidentKennedywasscaredtheSovietUnionwouldattacktheUnitedStates.HeexpectedablockadeonCubawouldobligetheSovietUniontoremoveitsmissiles,whichunfortunatelydidnothappen.Forahostageof13days,nuclearwarseemedpossiblebutfortunately,throughtheeffortsofU.Nthemissilecrisishadbeensolvedfollowedbyagreementsinitsaftermath.
