Abstract

Jack London, As a prominent figure in the field of protesting through satirical perceptive, wrote his cor-nerstone book ―The Iron Heel‖ in which he analyzed this dystopian novel that depict a series of events that will happen in the future. The current study is an attempt to clarify interpretations of this master-work: The Iron Heel, analyzed within a literary work that is satire. The novel deals primarily with futur-istic politics and not with technological advances. Therefore, those aspects within the frame of the book have been highlighted. To achieve this objective, a historical and, analytical, literary approach is imple-mented, using the MLA methodology. Moreover, this study aims at showing the literature protest as a way of satire. Our present study is divided into two main chapters in which we made a general overview about New Criticism, Capitalism in the American society and Protesting through in American society. We also, discussed The Iron Heel: Satirical perspectives, and gave a detailed description of Jack Lon-don: a protest writer. Moreover, we mention Oligarchy in The Iron heel and Satire in the Iron Heel. Therefore, the use of satire method in protesting literature of Jack London‘s the iron heel novel, satire play in important role in shaping the novel. Moreover, the socio-historical context of the iron heel novel was capitalism, oligarchy and materialism in protesting literature.
