dc.description.abstract	This research aims to highlight the role of local authorities, This research aims to highlight the role of local authorities, represented by municipalities, in improving essential social services, primarily primary schools and their canteens. The management of these canteens has now become a full responsibility of the municipalities. One of the most significant challenges they face is improving the school meal, which positively impacts school enrollment rates and helps combat negative phenomena such as school dropout. The study seeks to analyze and evaluate the actual roles played by the municipality, using the Al-Ma'adhid Municipality as a case study, in managing the school canteen during the period (2018-2024). It also aims to identify the key efforts undertaken by the municipality in managing school canteens and the difficulties it encounters in this area
