Abstract
This study aims to shed light on the digital transformation in the education sector by examining its impact on the various pillars of the educational process, the reasons behind its adoption, the stages of its implementation, as well as the challenges it faces and the proposed solutions to overcome them. The study begins by exploring the fundamental pillars of the educational process: the teacher, the learner, the content, and the educational environment. It has been observed that digital transformation has reshaped the dynamics of these elements by introducing new technological tools that directly affect teaching methods, learning approaches, and the management of educational institutions. The main motivations for this transformation lie in the need to improve the quality of education, facilitate access to pedagogical resources, ensure digital equity, and enhance administrative and educational efficiency. Digital transformation also responds to the evolution of the modern era and the demands of the digital economy. The project of digital transformation began with the launch of national digital platforms focused on digitizing administrative documents, student records, and communication services among educational stakeholders. This project has gradually improved administrative performance in terms of speed, accuracy, and reduced bureaucracy, and has facilitated tasks for users. One of the key outcomes of this transformation is the integration of digital tablets in classrooms, opening new avenues for interactive learning. However, this has also revealed several technical and structural challenges, such as poor digital infrastructure in some institutions, lack of teacher training, and cybersecurity issues related to data protection. The study identifies several shortcomings, most notably the absence of a comprehensive digital strategy, unequal access across regions, and weak technical support. To address these issues, the study proposes the development of a national digital education plan, continuous training for staff, enhanced digital infrastructure, and the assurance of data security.
