dc.description.sponsorship | The poetry of Abu Firas, which he wrote while he was a prisoner with the Romans, is considered one of the most wonderful pieces of Arabic poetry transmitted, and it is what was called the Asriyyat, because of the rhythmic characteristics that those poems contained that made them occupy the appropriate position.In our research, we sought to uncover the most important aspects of rhythm, often trying to reveal the relationship between connotation and rhythm.For this reason, we adopted a descriptive approach in order to study the phenomenon itself. The research was also divided into four chapters .In the first chapter, I discussed captivity poems in terms of the conceptual framework and historical context in which they were composed .Here we discussed Abu Firas Al-Hamdani: his upbringing, personality, life and era, touching on the most important things that distinguished this era of turmoil, internal strife and conflicts.AndSaif al-Dawla’s wars against the Romans, in which Abu Firas was one of the most prominent heroes, then talking about the incident of Abu Firas’ capture and the reason for Saif al-Dawla’s delay in ransoming his cousin.Then we studied the captivity poems that we defined and highlighted their status and position in Arabic poetry, the opinions of critics about them, and the circumstances in which they were said.The title of the second chapter was “Prosodic changes and their relationship to rhythm.” It was devoted to studying meters and changes, and then we elaborated on the relationship of those changes to rhythm. In the third chapter, we studied “rhyme and its relationship to rhythm.” Here we discussed rhyme and its changes and the relationship of these changes to rhythm. We tried to reveal the precise relationship between the images of rhyme and rhythm without neglecting the semantic aspect. Then came the fourth chapter, entitled: Internal Rhythm in Asriyyat. Here we defined rhythm and then explained its most prominent manifestations. It was concluded in the conclusion that Abu Firas’ Asriyyat were based on various rhythmic pillars and perhaps this is the secret of their beauty, fame and distinction. | |
