dc.description.abstractDan Brown is an American author; who wrote Angels and Demons. This novel introduces the character Robert Langdon; who is a protagonist of Dan Brown‟s subsequent novels with the Italian scientist Vittoria Vetra. Dan Brown puts science and religion into conflict by reviving the myth of Illuminati; a secret society of scientists whose relationship with the catholic church has long been intimate tangled and not fully known. The writer mentioned defferent churches and works of Bernini and Raphael as religious symbols. Dan Brown uses also key words related to nature referred to the churches, Earth for Santa Maria del Popolo on Piazza, Fire for Santa Maria Della Vitoria, Air for ST. Peter‟s Square, and Water for Piazza Novena Bernini‟s Fountain of the four Rivers. This research analyzes Dan Brown‟s work in the light of archetypal method. The first chapter provides a Scio-historical context and Framework, it seeks to define religion, myth, catholic church, Illuminati, and study the Greek Mythology and how Dan Brown appears as a mythologist. The second chapter analyzes religion, religious symbols, and the myth of Illuminati and how does it affect society, the Churches that are used in the novel as symbols and the religious story of Habakkuk and the Angel.en_US
