T Dictionaries are essential tools for learning a foreign language because they provide learners with vital information in all aspects of language, such as phonology, morphology, syntactic, semantics, and etymology. In this sense, the current study investigates learners' perceptions, and practices towards using dictionaries inside and outside the classroom. Moreover, it sheds light on dictionary use strategies and provides teachers with information about students' interests and choices of dictionaries. In order to achieve these objectives, a questionnaire is distributed to 86 second-year LMD students at Msila university. The results of this survey reveal that learners have positive attitudes towards the use of dictionaries. Furthermore, dictionaries can be an effective tool for enhancing language learning vocabulary and learners' proficiency. According to the findings, monolingual and electronic dictionaries are the most popular and widely used types. Also, learners' answers show that they mostly use dictionaries in translation and reading, regardless of other activities. In addition, most students use dictionaries to check the meaning of words while neglecting other language aspects. According to this research, EFL teachers should provide continuous training on dictionary use in learning English as a foreign languageen_US
