Abstract
Corruption is one of the serious and most widespread crimes that threaten the
stability of society, and threatens development in various economic, social and
political sectors, and even in public and private institutions. Therefore, Algeria has
worked in the field of combating and preventing corruption to develop national
mechanisms, after the ratification of international conventions and treaties, aimed at
reducing This phenomenon is due to the deterrent methods that are no longer sufficient
alone to prevent corruption, and also due to the novelty of the crimes and their
difference from traditional crimes in terms of follow-up and trial. This is why the
Algerian legislator singled them out from the rest of the crimes with special
procedures for follow-up, in order to combat effectively through deterrent methods and
laws included in Legal mechanisms divided into procedural mechanisms and
substantive mechanisms, as well as their embodiment in Law No. 06-01 related to the
prevention and control of corruption, and in order to support these methods and
mechanisms, he developed other technical mechanisms that embody the
implementation of laws in reality, which are the institutional mechanisms represented
in the National Authority for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption, And the
Accounting Council and the General Inspectorate of Finance in order to address and
reduce the phenomenon of corruption, and it must be recognized that because the
phenomenon of corruption is a complex phenomenon with multiple images, prevention
and control require the realization of the role of mosques, schools, the media and civil
society organizations as pillars that support the traditional mechanisms for preventing
and combating corruption.
