Abstract
The current study investigates Teachers’ Attitudes towards the Use of Authentic Texts in Teaching Reading, the Case of M’sila Secondary School Teachers. This study aims to identify the teachers’ attitudes towards using authentic texts as a very pleasurable learning strategy. In order to meet this objective, a mixed method is applied. Quantitative and qualitative data are collected from a questionnaire directed to 32 EFL teachers at different secondary schools in M’sila. The results reveal that EFL teachers have positive attitudes towards the use of authentic texts in teaching reading. The findings also demonstrate that authentic texts play an important role in reading enhancement as well as they facilitate the teaching and learning process.
